Web
Edition CMS - All the tools needed to manage the content of your
website
Web
Edition Content Management System (CMS) hands direct control of the
website content – at the very least, to the client. As with all web
projects, we determine the project brief via consultation and deliver
the requirements via a secure, user friendly and interactive
interface. The Web Edition content management system (CMS) interface
covers many areas of the website update process including: Image
upload and preparation, importing of files such as rich text or csv
file, creation of new web pages, folder management, web page update
tools such as text and formatting editors, link management and for
more advanced user who are perhaps used to using tables in word, page
and content layout via tables.
CMS
design - Templates to keep things simple
Web
Edition CMS uses a template system. These CMS templates contain all
of the standard coding elements required for a modern website to
display correctly, but with the addition of Wed Edition CMS code
which enable the editable areas of the website pages for the client
to use. The beauty of this system is that, unlike many other CMS
systems, we essentially code the website as we would a normal
website, but with additional code elements required for the CMS to
work, so there are no constraints on design and no compromise to
quality of code and SEO campaigns work equally as well on Web Edition
CMS based websites as they do on a non-CMS website.
Website
editors can create, edit and manage web page documents without any
knowledge of website coding techniques. It really is simple to use.
We prepare your templates for you, each template satisfying a design
requirement (i.e. website section), and when the client initiates a
new page via the content management system, a template can be chosen
according to the type of page required.
Content
Management to cover all bases
In
addition to the functions mentioned above, Web Edition CMS is
extendible to an advanced degree. We have listed a few generic
functions here so that you can get an idea of what Web Edition
Content Management System is capable of:
Main
navigation updates. The
main navigation of a website will likely be the same on every page.
This can be maintained by the client from a single file and then
update to the entire site. This is achieved by using what is called
an 'include' globally throughout the website. Time saving at it's
best!
Secondary
navigation updates. The
secondary navigation of a website will likely be the same throughout
a given section, but will differ on other sections of the site.
Again, using an include this can be achieved by updating a single
navigation file which is associated with only the section or web
pages it applies to.
New
web pages – work in progress.
If you have created a new page and have not yet finished adding the
content for the page, you can save it without publishing. It will be
saved but not publicly available to view
Web
Edition CMS can import text files and data files,
such as rich text files XML data files and CSV files
Web
Edition CMS has file management tools
so that the client can create directories, move and delete files in
order to keep the structure of the CMS based website clean and tidy.
Web
Edition CMS contains user management tools,
so that areas of the website can be allocated to certain web
editors. Other areas of the website can be locked off to users, so
that they can only access their allocated directories and/or files.
Web
Edition CMS Plug ins: Web
edition is built on a plug in architecture, with a number of plug
ins available for use such as:
Email
Newsletter module – data
capture/newsletter subscriptions, manage your email recipient list,
create HTML emails, test and send.
Database
and Object module for
storing data and lists
Customer

personalised areas for specific customers or customer types
User

permissions and integrate work flow, internal messaging and task
management.
